BLACKHAWK  BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

An after school program that offers cheerleading, sports, life skills, home work help and computer assistance and access.  A day program operates during the summer providing structured activities, lunch, and trips. Location: 330 15th Ave.  For further information call 961-1213.

ORTON KEYES BOY'S & GIRLS CLUB

An after school program that offers cheerleading, sports, life skills, home work help and computer assistance and access.  A day program operates during the summer providing structured activities, lunch, and trips. Location: 633 Ranger Street.

HEALTH SERVICES

School based health center providing physicals, immunizations, prescriptions, counseling, treatment for chronic illnesses and minor injuries or illnesses for school aged children 18 and younger. Open: Mon.-Fri. 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Location: 330 15th Ave. Contact 968-2010 Sponsored by Winnebago County Health Department.

RONALD McDONALD Care-Mobile

Three annual visits to Rockford Housing Authority by the Ronald McDonald care-mobile for dental care services to the community at large.  Contact: Beulah Tripplett at (815) 489-8593 for dates and times.

SUMMER FOOD PROGRAM

This program is held at Orton Keyes, Blackhawk and Fairgrounds Community Centers. Free lunches are provided to children (ages 2-18) of residents and the neighborhood. Lunches are also offered at Washington Park Community Center for both Concord Commons and neighborhood children.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORK  CENTERS 

The NNC in partnership with Rock Valley College and Junior Achievement will provide computer classes for adults and youth:  Basic skills, keyboarding, employment search, and surfing the internet. There will also be help for students to improve their academics. Neighborhood Centers will be located at Brewington Oaks, Fairgrounds, and Orton Keyes.  The Neighborhood Network Centers’ goal is to connect the neighbors of the Rockford Housing Authority with the world.
