The Good Neighbor Award recognizes and individual or agency going above and beyond the normal efforts to improve a neighborhood, engage residents and build unity. Last year in the midst of an emotionally charged battle on housing, a resident of Newtowne rose up and spoke up. She has shared her stories and challenged neighbors to bridge gaps and not create division.

This year’s winner joins the well deserving list of community winners like: 2014’s – ORCHiD Neighborhood Association and 2015’s – West Gateway Coalition’s leadership James DeVoe/Robert Esmond, The 2016 Good Neighbor Award goes to – Mary Jo Powers, a caring and compassionate neighbor in the Newtowne Neighborhood.
