ROCKFORD HOUSING AUTHORITY—NOTICE OF INTENT TO CHANGE THE RHA HCV PAYMENT STANDARDS

Please be advised the Rockford Housing Authority is posting for public comment: a proposed change to the Housing Choice Voucher Payment Standards. The comment period is open on October 21, 2019, through November 20, 2019. Copies of the proposed HCV Payment Standards are available for download on the RHA website and are also available for public review at the Rockford Housing Authority’s Admissions Office at 223 S. Winnebago Street, Rockford, IL 61102 between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Comments must be submitted and/or received on or before 3 PM on November 20, 2019.

The primary purpose of the intake function is to gather information about the family, but RHA will also utilize this process to provide information to the family so that an accurate and timely decision of eligibility can be made. Applicants will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with this plan.

Currently, the waitlist is open.

What you need before you apply

To apply, you will need to provide the following information:

  • First and last names of all members of your household
  • Social Security Number of all members of your household
  • Birth Dates of all members of your household
  • The total gross annual income of your household. This includes Supplemental Security Income (SSI), wages, Social Security, TANF, Child Support, Pension, and any other income received
  • A valid address to which you can receive correspondence

Computer access is available at Rockford Housing Authority locations. Online applications portal is also compatible with most smart phones.

Waiting List

When the waiting list opens, it willl be open for 1-2 days at two locations within the city; the applicant will then fill out a preliminary application and be placed on the waiting list accordingly.

You will remain on the waiting list until your name has reached the top of the waiting list and funding is available. It will be your responsibility to notify the RHA of any changes in writing while on the waiting list.
