A quality home is the foundation of society & community

In continued support of “Peace Month” through the great support of Jim and Pam Keeling, Rockford Housing Authority has joined in the dedication of Peace. “Peace is a commitment, peace is indeed a pledge, and we are asking each of our residents to stand with us and take the pledge and work together to reduce the influence of outsiders who bring violence into our communities,” Ron Clewer CEO RHA.
An installation of a Peace Pole was completed and dedicated at the RHA main office on September 28. The message is about celebrating peace. Peace is possible.
From the dedication of the Peace Pole, an excerpt from The Peace Pledge: “I believe that we must and we can build peace Every Day. Every person in every family, school, community, city and country. I believe that my own thoughts, words and actions make a difference.”By creating the International Day of Peace, the UN devoted itself to worldwide peace and encouraged people to work in cooperation for this goal. Since its inception, Peace Day has marked personal and planetary progress toward peace. It has grown to include millions of people worldwide and many events are organized each year to commemorate and celebrate this day.
