Every community thrives when residents step up to lead, advocate, and inspire those around them. At Park Terrace, one of those leaders is Paula Smith.
Communities can sometimes face challenges when residents feel disconnected or lack a voice in the decisions that shape their neighborhoods. Without leaders willing to bridge those gaps, important opportunities for growth and unity can be missed.
Since moving into Park Terrace in 2017, Paula has taken an active role in making her community stronger. With years of experience working for UPS and the Rockford Board of Education before retirement, Paula brings leadership, dedication, and a strong sense of service to everything she does.
Paula proudly serves as the Secretary of the Park Terrace Resident Council, where she helps ensure resident voices are heard, concerns are addressed, and new ideas are welcomed. Her role is more than administrative; it’s about connection, advocacy, and empowering her neighbors.
Although not originally from Rockford, Paula proudly calls it her hometown, having lived here the longest. She has found belonging, purpose, and pride as a resident leader. Her success is seen not just in her own journey, but in the positive impact she continues to create for her neighbors.
Paula’s story is a reminder of the importance of resident leadership. When residents step up, they don’t just build stronger councils they build stronger communities.
We celebrate Paula Smith for her dedication, leadership, and the lasting mark she continues to make in the Park Terrace community.
