HUD Awards $250K to RHA for Park Terrace Safety

Rockford, IL – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) a $250,000 Emergency Safety & Security grant under the FY2025 Capital Fund Program to address critical safety needs at Park Terrace (IL022000414).

The Rockford Housing Authority is investing in critical electrical safety upgrades at the Park Terrace community. The $362,510 project will be supported by the $250,000 HUD grant, with RHA contributing the remaining costs through Capital Funds. These improvements will address outdated electrical systems and enhance resident safety, ensuring a safer, more reliable living environment.

Strengthening Resident Safety & Trust

The HUD Emergency Safety & Security grant is part of the Capital Fund Program, which equips housing authorities with resources to improve property safety, security, and quality. At Park Terrace, these upgrades will directly benefit residents by addressing long-standing safety concerns while aligning with federal requirements such as the Build America Buy America Act.
