Rockford Housing Authority to Celebrate 75 Years of Service to the Community with Special Livestream Event

Rockford, IL — The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) will commemorate a historic milestone as it celebrates 75 years of serving the Rockford community on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. CT. The celebration will honor the agency’s rich history, recognize the people and partnerships that have shaped its legacy, and share a vision for the future of affordable housing in Rockford.

Community members who are unable to attend in person are invited to participate by watching the event live on RHA’s digital platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, X, and other official social media channels. The livestream will also be available at all RHA properties, allowing residents throughout the community to join in the celebration.

Founded in 1951 by the Rockford City Council to address the growing need for affordable housing following World War II, the Rockford Housing Authority has evolved into one of the region’s leading providers of affordable housing and supportive services. What began as a response to a housing shortage for working families and returning veterans has grown into an organization that has helped tens of thousands of individuals and families achieve greater housing stability and opportunity.

Throughout its history, RHA has continually adapted to meet the changing needs of the community.
