At Rockford Housing Authority, every hallway holds a story. And through the ROSS (Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency) Program, we’ve seen those stories come alive in powerful ways this spring. More than a service, ROSS is a bridge—a connection between resources and real lives, between hope and opportunity.

This season, that bridge grew stronger.

A Morning of Laughter, Learning, and New Beginnings

One bright morning in May, families arrived eager and smiling for our preschool enrollment event. Children clutched crayons while parents shared dreams of bright futures. What looked like a simple gathering was something more—it was the start of a learning journey. For us, every enrollment represents a new chapter, and we’re honored to help shape those first pages.

Power in Partnership: Connecting Homes and Futures

This month, our impact was amplified by a generous collaboration with Comcast. Their commitment to bridging the digital divide helped us deliver what so many families need: access. With stronger internet connections and digital tools, our residents now have new ways to work, learn, and thrive. We are deeply grateful for Comcast’s partnership in creating meaningful, modern support.

Looking Ahead: Youth Resource Fair Coming This July

But our journey doesn’t pause. It builds. In July, the momentum continues with our Youth Resource Fair—a space filled with mentorship, opportunity, and purpose. From career pathways to life-skills workshops, this event is more than a fair—it’s a spark. Designed to inspire and equip our youth for the future, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.
