Chair Yoga Supports Resident Wellness

At Rockford Housing Authority, we are committed to supporting not only housing stability but also the overall well-being of our residents. One way we do this is by offering engaging wellness activities that promote health, connection, and community.

Yolanda Anderson, our Resident Support Specialist (RSS) serving Olesen Plaza and North Main Manor, recently introduced a Chair Yoga program for residents at Olesen Plaza. This activity provides a gentle and accessible way for residents to improve flexibility, reduce stress, and stay active in a supportive environment.

Chair yoga is especially beneficial because it allows participants of all mobility levels to take part comfortably. Residents have enjoyed the opportunity to focus on relaxation, movement, and mindfulness while also spending time together and strengthening community bonds.

Programs like this reflect the important work of our Resident Support Services team, helping residents access opportunities that enhance quality of life and encourage healthy living.

We also want to continue highlighting the voices of our residents. For the RSS section of our newsletter, we would love to feature more resident stories and experiences. If you are a resident who would like to share your story or be featured, please reach out to us at hello@rockfordha.org.

Thank you to Yolanda Anderson for her dedication and creativity in bringing meaningful programming to our communities. Rockford Housing Authority looks forward to continuing to support resident wellness through activities like Chair Yoga at Olesen Plaza.
