Feels Like Home

A Safe Place to Call Home

Debbie Mitchell and her husband moved into North Main Manor nearly a decade ago. At the time, her husband was recovering from multiple strokes, and they needed a place that offered not only stability—but a sense of belonging. Today, thanks to the support of the Resident Services & Supports (RSS) team, that’s exactly what they’ve found.

  A Family in Transition

Debbie’s journey began in uncertainty. Caring for her husband after his strokes left her emotionally and physically exhausted. What they needed was more than just a place to live—they needed a community that cared.

 Feeling Isolated and Unsupported

Before support arrived, life at North Main Manor felt quiet, and sometimes lonely. Residents wanted to feel connected but didn’t have the resources or leadership to make it happen.

Yolanda and RSS Step In

With the arrival of Yolanda, a Resource Manager through RSS, everything changed. “She makes us feel so much like home,” Debbie shares. From festive holiday events to weekly bingo, Yolanda brought energy, warmth, and consistency to the building. Residents began coming out of their apartments—not just for activities, but for connection.

From a Building to a Community

What was once just housing is now a vibrant, supportive space where neighbors gather, laugh, and lean on one another. “We do feel safe and at home here at North Main Manor,” Debbie says proudly. Thanks to Yolanda and the RSS team, residents have found more than services—they’ve found family.

Resident Services & Supports at RHA is committed to turning every unit into a true home. Through dedicated leadership like Yolanda’s, RSS builds safe, vibrant spaces where residents feel seen, celebrated, and supported.
