In every community, landlords, tenants, and housing advocates share the same desire: safe, stable, and affordable housing opportunities. Yet, the path is not always simple. Landlords often have questions about housing programs, tenants face challenges in accessing resources, and community members seek clarity on opportunities that can improve their lives.
Without open dialogue and trusted guidance, misunderstandings can grow, and opportunities to strengthen housing partnerships are lost. Too often, landlords and residents feel disconnected from the programs and services designed to support them.
This is why the Rockford Housing Authority’s Landlord Liaison took the lead in hosting the All Things Housing Summit on August 20, 2025. Serving as the bridge between landlords, residents, and the housing authority, the Landlord Liaison created a space where questions could be answered, concerns addressed, and partnerships strengthened.
The Summit brought together:
The event was interactive, encouraging meaningful conversations and ensuring that every participant walked away with tools, contacts, and knowledge to support their journey.
The Summit was a great success. Attendance was strong, with community members actively engaging, asking questions, and connecting with vendors. Landlords expressed appreciation for the chance to speak directly with RHA staff and partners. Vendors, in turn, valued the opportunity to share resources that directly impact families and housing stability in Rockford.
The energy in the room was undeniable proof that when we bring people together, we create real pathways toward stronger communities and better housing opportunities.
The All Things Housing Summit will continue to serve as a vital platform for connection and collaboration. Whether you’re a landlord, resident, or community partner, your voice matters, and your participation helps shape the future of housing in Rockford.
