Rockford Housing Authority’s Jobs Plus Program is creating pathways to employment for local residents. With 332 enrollees, the program has already helped 39% secure jobs. By offering financial workshops and direct connections to employers, RHA is making a tangible difference in the lives of its residents.
Employment Opportunities-Through the Jobs Plus Program, RHA has partnered with local businesses like UPS and Furst Staffing to bring job opportunities directly to residents. Monthly visits from employers provide resume tips and job application assistance, making it easier for residents to take the next step toward employment.
Financial Literacy Workshops-RHA recently partnered with Midland Bank to offer a 5-week financial workshop series. Topics included budgeting, saving, and credit management, empowering participants to take control of their finances and build a stable financial future.
Long-Term Impact-The Jobs Plus Program is more than just a job placement service; it’s a holistic approach to resident empowerment. By offering both employment resources and financial education, RHA ensures that residents are equipped for long-term success.
The Jobs Plus Program continues to be a vital resource for RHA residents, providing them with the tools and opportunities to succeed both in employment and financial stability.
To continue to create strategic partnerships with community stakeholders, design a diverse housing portfolio, leverage social service programming to unite and ensure residents are provided with safe and nurturing environments that lead to self-sufficiency, responsibility, and individual empowerment.
