The debate over Gorman & Company’s emerging plan to develop affordable housing on a site off South New Towne Drive in east Rockford isn’t likely to end anytime soon.
Amid the noise, I’ve detected four broad concerns surrounding the importance of civility in public dialogue, the spread of misinformation, poor public communication and the need for change. Some thoughts:
Civility doesn’t require that we join hands and sing “Kumbaya.”
