New Beginnings at RHA Front Desk

Tanisha McKethan recently joined the Rockford Housing Authority as the new Front Desk Assistant, where she will be one of the first friendly faces residents meet when visiting. Her role includes checking in residents, assisting with questions, and providing updates on waitlist status helping ensure everyone feels supported and informed.

Originally from Chicago, Tanisha moved to Rockford two years ago, eager to find new opportunities and a sense of community. Her journey began when she came across an email from Amy about the Lifeforce Development Institute (LDI) program. Through LDI, Tanisha gained valuable skills, confidence, and direction that opened doors to new career paths.

Tanisha’s transition into her new role was made possible with the help of Kelly Cooper from The Workforce Connection, who helped match her skills and interests with RHA’s needs. While awaiting her training and start date, Tanisha also began working toward a cybersecurity certification, showing her dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.

To help residents get to know her, Tanisha will be featured in an upcoming Human Services Newsletter. Her story is a reminder that with support, persistence, and community connection, new opportunities can flourish.
