ROCKFORD (WIFR) — The Rockford Housing Authority will have to look for other funding sources for a project to rebuild the Fairgrounds Valley Housing Complex. CEO Ron Clewer says he just found out RHA didn’t get a $30 million grant that would pay for most of the construction. They plan to re-apply this fall. Clewer says RHA is now also going to start looking for other funding alternatives to pay for the massive project which would tear down the entire complex and start from scratch.
