ROCKFORD — The end is near for the yellow house at 204 Irving Ave.
The damaged roof, warped floors, faded particle board windows and asbestos siding make it a difficult structure to rehab.
Built more than 100 years ago, the vacant home’s sentence is demolition. But this one won’t cost taxpayers the $7,000 it typically takes to tear down a boarded-up house.
