Rockford Housing Authority Celebrates 75 Years of Service with Sold-Out Anniversary Celebration and New Brand Reveal

ROCKFORD, Ill. — The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) proudly celebrated its 75th Anniversary on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 with a sold-out community celebration that honored the organization’s legacy of service while unveiling a bold new brand identity that reflects its vision for the future.

Held at the RHA Main Office, the milestone event welcomed residents, community leaders, elected officials, partners, and supporters to commemorate 75 years of creating housing opportunities and strengthening the Rockford community.

The celebration was also livestreamed across RHA’s social media platforms, allowing thousands more to participate virtually.

The program highlighted RHA’s rich history, the evolution of affordable housing in Rockford, and the lives transformed through safe, stable housing and resident-focused programs. Guests heard heartfelt testimonials from former and current residents whose stories demonstrated how affordable housing can become the foundation for homeownership, entrepreneurship, financial stability, education, and long-term success.

The celebration also marked the official unveiling of the Rockford Housing Authority’s new logo and brand identity, representing a renewed commitment to innovation, service excellence, and building stronger communities for generations to come.

“Our 75th Anniversary was more than a celebration of our history—it was a celebration of the people whose lives have been impacted by the work of the Rockford Housing Authority,” said Laura Snyder, Chief Executive Officer of the Rockford Housing Authority. “We are incredibly grateful to our residents, staff, Board of Commissioners, community partners, elected officials, and supporters who have helped shape our organization over the past 75 years. As we honor our past, we are equally excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead for the next 75 years.”

The event featured resident success stories, recognition of community partnerships, and reflections on the organization’s continued mission of providing quality affordable housing while creating pathways to economic mobility and self-sufficiency.
