ROCKFORD HOUSING AUTHORITY’S TEN CORE VALUES-Collaborative

The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) operates on the foundation of ten core values. As mentioned in their mission and vision statements, these qualities drive the organization through each project they complete. These values are denoted in the list below:

This blog series will define each of these values and explain how they relate to RHA’s work.

Collaborative

Collaborative is defined by Merriam- Webster dictionary as “working jointly with others or together especially in an intellectual endeavor.” Here at RHA we do this every day between coworkers, our residents and the community. At RHA we work as a team to find the best solutions and ideas to complete the task at hand. Using constant collaboration we are able to find much better solutions to problems and innovate when possible.

Through our past projects we have records of feedback from our community. Through this collaboration we are able to improve on current and future projects. We learn and innovate through this collaboration and in turn it helps to improve our company and the community.

We also often collaborate with other local businesses to promote initiatives to for the betterment of the local community. Some of our partners are the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity, the YMCA of the Rock River Valley and the United Way of the Rock River Valley. From those collaborations RHA has been able to push for the betterment of our community.

One of our current initiatives and collaborations is ConnectHome. ConnectHome is an initiative to expand high speed broadband to more RHA families. Since RHA has collaborated with mutable internet providers, such as Comcast, AT&T, Mobile Beacon, Rockford Public Schools and Rockford Public Library, they are now able to provide subsidized high speed broadband and computers for those who need it. This is just one of many of RHA helpful collaborations to better the community.

All these collaborations benefit RHA and the community. Through working together we bring the community closer and promote innovation and diversity. RHA looks forward to many more community beneficial collaborations to come.
