Six committed individuals successfully completed the Leadership Development Institute program

Rockford, IL — On Wednesday, April 3, 2025, the Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) celebrated six committed individuals who successfully completed the Leadership Development Institute (LDI), a 12-week hands-on learning program designed to meet the needs of today’s job seekers, employees, and employers.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Nordlof Center in downtown Rockford, with more than 35 attendees, including RHA staff, family members, friends, and community supporters.

The LDI program, led by RHA’s Human Services Department, offers in-person classes with flexible online learning options for special circumstances. Participants receive training in job and career readiness skills and are equipped to meet the region’s workforce goals. The expected outcomes for graduates include employment, a Workforce Readiness Certificate, mentorship in professional development, and access to continued educational training opportunities.

“This first cohort of 2025 represents more than just achievement—it’s about transformation,” said Carandus Brown, Human Services Manager and Dean of LDI. “Each graduate committed to the process, showed up every week, and now walks away with tools, confidence, and a vision for the future. That’s what LDI is all about.”

The graduation ceremony not only recognized the graduates’ dedication but also highlighted the importance of community partnerships and ongoing investment in workforce development.

Enrollment in the LDI program is open to the public and features a simple three-step process: apply, interview, and sign a participation agreement.
