Jerry Lumpkins, was raised in Rockford and is an Auburn High School graduate (Class of 89). He received his Bachelor of Science degrees of Political Science and History from Rockford University (93) and his MBA from the University of Phoenix-San Diego (97). After serving as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps for over five years, Lumpkins began his commercial banking career in Southern California. Lumpkins has been in commercial banking for 20 years and specializes in commercial real estate and affordable housing. He currently works with BMO Harris Bank within the commercial real estate group and focuses on multifamily, retail, office, and industrial properties throughout the Midwest, Arizona, and Florida.

Commissioner Lumpkins is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Risk Management Association (RMA), Real Estate Investment Association (REIA), Rogers Park Builders Group, Real Estate Lenders Association (RELA), Chicagoland Apartment Association, Vice President and Board member of the Chicago Real Estate Council (CREC), a member of Public Housing Authorities Directors Association (PHADA), member of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) and has served as a Board member, former Vice Chairman, and currently, Chairman of the Rockford Housing Authority. Lumpkins also serves as President of Bridge Rockford Alliance, Inc. Lumpkins was recently appointed to the Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation Board, which provides affordable housing to residents in the northwest side of Chicago.

“I am honored to serve on the Board of the Rockford Housing Authority. My professional training in commercial real estate and my personal history with the Rockford community allow me to effectively provide guidance and counsel to the Board, the community, and the residents of Rockford. It is truly an honor to serve,” states Mr. Lumpkins.

“In his day job he is a banker, he is with us reviewing our deals, our finances, our work, to ensure it meets the highest quality standard, as any good banker would do. And while he is not financing our real estate developments, at the end of the day he is still putting his name on it. As such, he ensures that they are strong and sustainable. Jerry has been with us now for four years and he is currently our board chair, Jerry thank you,” stated Ron Clewer, RHA CEO.
