On August 20, 2025, Rockford Housing Authority hosted the All Things Housing Summit a vibrant, community-wide event that brought together housing experts, residents, vendors, landlords, and service organizations. Hosted by Justin Francis, RHA’s Landlord Liaison, the summit was a dynamic space for solutions, learning, and connection all rooted in our mission to ensure safe, quality housing for all.
Celebrating Connection and Collaboration
The event was open to the public and designed to foster real conversations and shared action. More than just an informational summit, it was a celebration of Rockford’s housing progress and a launching pad for new partnerships. From resource tables to music and food, the event welcomed everyone residents, landlords, families, and guests with warmth and purpose.
Community Partners That Made It Happen
RHA was proud to welcome a range of valued community partners whose presence enriched the summit experience. Cheezy’s Grilled Cheese Food Truck brought delicious comfort to attendees, while DJ Polo set the atmosphere with music that kept the energy high. Organizations like the Jubilee Center, Nicor Gas, Family Peace Center, Prairie State Legal Services, IHSA, and many local landlords and vendors offered vital information, services, and support to attendees. These partners are critical to RHA’s mission and to the residents we proudly serve.
From Information to Impact
Throughout the summit, RHA teams and partners provided one-on-one guidance on housing applications, Section 8 vouchers, legal rights, utility support, landlord onboarding, and more.
With booths from internal departments like Jobs Plus, FSS, and LIPH, residents were able to ask questions, enroll in services, and access housing tools right on-site. Every connection made at the summit represents a new door opening for our community and for individuals seeking stability and hope.
The All Things Housing Summit was more than a success it was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together.
