Your Voice, Your Home: RHA’s Capital Fund Meetings

The Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) is committed to empowering residents by giving them a say in housing improvements. Starting in February, RHA will hold Capital Fund Meetings to gather feedback on how funds should be used to enhance living spaces. These insights will directly shape the Annual Plan and Moving to Work Plan, ensuring resident needs are met.

What is the Capital Fund?

The Capital Fund Program (CFP) is a crucial source of federal funding provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It supports public housing agencies in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading properties. This ensures that residents live in safe, modern, and well-maintained homes.

How is the Capital Fund Used?

Capital funds are allocated to projects that improve public housing, including:

  • Structural Upgrades – Roof repairs, plumbing, and electrical improvements
  • Safety Enhancements – Better lighting, security systems, and fire safety updates
  • Community Spaces – Playground updates, green spaces, and accessibility improvements

Why Resident Input Matters

Your feedback directly influences how these funds are spent. The RHA uses resident suggestions to prioritize projects that improve quality of life. Participating in Capital Fund Meetings gives you a voice in shaping the future of RHA communities.
