A New Chapter for Jobs Plus

Breanna

A New Beginning

For years, the Jobs Plus program has helped Rockford Housing residents gain meaningful employment and financial independence. Now, as the program moves away from enrollment, its focus turns to helping participants adjust to self-sufficiency. Many residents have secured high-paying jobs, and while this marks an exciting milestone, it also means stepping into the responsibility of paying rent.

Opportunities Ahead: Jobs Plus Hiring Event

For those looking to advance their careers or find new opportunities, the Jobs Plus Hiring Event  is just around the corner. On May 2nd, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, over 20 employers and resource providers will gather at the Rockford Housing Authority (223 S. Winnebago St, Rockford, IL 61102). This is a golden opportunity to connect with potential employers, explore new career paths, and take the next step toward professional growth.

Career Center Now Open!

To further support residents, Jobs Plus has opened the Career Center Computer Lab  at the Scattered Sites Office (330 15th Ave, Rockford, IL 61104). The center is open Monday through Wednesday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a space for job searches, application assistance, educational opportunities, and more. Whether you’re applying for jobs, learning new skills, or exploring training programs, the Career Center is here to help. For questions,  .

Moving Forward

As residents step into this new phase of self-sufficiency, support remains available through career resources and upcoming hiring events. With opportunities on the horizon, success is just a step away!
